Jeff Hine began his federal law enforcement career in 1987 as a Uniformed Officer with the United States Secret Service, assigned to the White House Branch in Washington, D.C. His duties included the protection of the White House complex, the Vice President’s Residence, and foreign embassies and diplomatic missions. He also supported the planning and execution of dignitary protective service assignments.
In 1989, he transferred to the United States Customs Service (USCS), Office of Investigations, as a Special Agent in Galveston, Texas, where he conducted narcotics smuggling investigations. He later transferred to the USCS Office of Internal Affairs in Houston, Texas, conducting investigations involving misconduct and corruption among agency personnel assigned to the northern and southern borders.
In 2001, he was assigned to the USCS Office of Investigations under the Houston Special Agent in Charge (SAC) office, serving in the Asset Forfeiture Group and later the Currency and Narcotics Enforcement Team (CNET), where he was responsible for asset identification and seizure operations.
In 2002, he joined the Houston Special Response Team (SRT), serving more than fifteen years as a team member and instructor. His assignments included Firearms Instructor (FI), Defensive Tactics Instructor (DT), Breacher, Assaulter, Assistant Team Leader, Team Leader, and Protective Service Operations (PSO) Instructor.
Since 2004, he has served as a guest instructor for national tactical programs within the Department of Homeland Security’s Office of Firearms and Tactical Programs (OFTP).
Mr. Hine has more than 31 years of federal law enforcement experience. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Mansfield University of Pennsylvania. He has served as Senior Firearms and Defensive Tactics Instructor for the Houston SAC office and has developed active threat response training programs for law enforcement organizations. He is a member of the Texas Tactical Police Officer Association (TTPOA) and the National Tactical Officers Association (NTOA).
