James Hart is a veteran of the Los Angeles Police Department with more than 30 years’ experience as a Police Officer, SWAT Instructor, and as a Use of Force Instructor. James has been with the S.W.A.T. team for the past 19 years and has served as a Tactical Element Team member, Crisis Negotiator, Police Sniper, Self-Defense Instructor, and Hand to Hand Combat Instructor. James has also worked Gang Suppression and Narcotic Enforcement with a Federal Task Force.
While serving as an operational member of the S.W.A.T. Team (D-Platoon), James participated in countless High-Risk Warrant operations with optimal success. James has trained with many elite SWAT teams and military special operations units around the world. Additionally, James has worked many specialized protective details, such as the Chief of Police Security Detail; Mayor Security Detail; Witness and VIP protective detail; and Presidential and visiting Dignitary Details.
James is also an F.B.I. certified firearms Instructor and holds a Scout Sniper Certificate from the United States Marine Corps. In addition to his dedication and commitments, James finds time to train new recruits in defensive tactics, high profile high-risk traffic stops, baton, and hand to hand combat training at the Fullerton Police academy. James holds a 3rd degree black belt in Shudokan Ryu Taiho Jutsu, and was also Inducted into the Black Belt Masters’ Hall of Fame in 2004. Recently, he was awarded the USA Masters Hall of Fame. James holds a Bachelor of Science degree from California State Polytechnic University.
